ABOUT THE HAIRCHARMS
Are Wildform Brand Haircharms sustainable?
Yes! We’re glad you asked ;) We source our metals locally in Los Angeles where they are positively handmade with love. Our stones are ethically sourced from Brazil.
Is the silver sterling silver? Also, what‘s up with brass?
Yes, the silver is not plated, it is solid sterling silver. Our brass is solid as well. No Wildform charms are plated. Can I get my charms wet?
You do you! Water itself isn’t damaging to your charms…it’s what’s in the water. Salt water, chlorine water, and natural hot springs which contain more minerals can potentially make your charms less shiny and new looking. But the good thing is, both sterling silver and brass can be polished easily! Try to avoid getting products on your charms like perfume and hairspray. So, how do I polish my hair charms?
We added an extra e-coating to all of our charms for that extra layer of protection, but when the time comes to polish here’s what you’ve got to know! For silver you can make a paste of baking soda and water and gently buff with a cloth or tooth brush. You can also use white toothpaste. Or boil with baking soda and 1 teaspoon of salt for just a few minutes and polish with soft cloth.
For our brass—believe it or not—tomato sauce works well if you rinse with water after. You can also make a lemon and baking soda solution. Also, the vinegar and salt with soft cloth method works well. Rub with olive oil after to prevent tarnishing!
